Valentines Day

We had a fun packed Valentines Day this year!
Beck had a preschool valentines party, they had all the kids bring a valentine treat for everyone in the class and then they had a party the last hour that parents could come to while they handed out their valentines and had treats
It's so fun to be in the stage where we do class valentines!
After preschool we went over to my friend's house and had another valentines party, it was so fun she decorated the table all valentinesy and we all brought a valentines day treat for lunch while the kids played together..
It was definitely a fun way to make valentines more fun and special!  We decided we need to do a holiday lunch with the kids for every holiday and take turns hosting...but hello, so LAME that we only have 2 holidays left before we have to move!!
Then the Olsons watched our kids and me and Dane went and grabbed some dinner and saw Safe Haven...which I would HIGHLY recommend, I'm not going to lie, even though I'm a big Nicholas Sparks fan for some reason I didn't have very high expectations for this movie...but I left the theater looking lovely with a big red puffy splotchy face from crying.
And Dane being the great husband that he is not only got me the prettiest flowers I think he's ever gotten he also knew to include a big box of donuts along with them!
It was a perfect day

DC

Last week my aunt Cynthia called and said that her and my uncle Clark were in DC from Arizona and it was perfect timing cause Dane had the whole week off so we were able to go up and hang out for the day!

It was so fun to be able to get to see them, they let Dane stay with them a few weeks ago while he interviewed and he had such a fun time with them that I felt left out so I was glad that I got to see them too!

Picnics at the Field

One of the MANY things I'm going to miss when we move is our picnics with all of our friends at the big field up the street.

Beck's birthday....2 months late

What the heck I totally forgot to post about Beck's birthday!

We did another combined Beck and Lily birthday party this year...and just like last year Ashlee came up with all the cute and creative ideas and I took half the credit for it all, not a bad set-up for me!

It's going to be depressing next year when we move and won't have Lily to celebrate with...they are just the cutest combo in the world!

The theme was Knights and Princesses, Ashlee made an awesome castle entrance for the doorway when the kids walked in and we had shields for the boys and princess crowns for the girls to decorate when the kids arrived.  True to what we expected the girls all sweetly sat in the corner decorating their crowns together and the boys skipped the decorating and went straight to fighting.

Last year we learned our lesson that if you plan too many games and the party lasts too long it gets a little crazy so we kept it simple, we did a treasure hunt and then had a dragon pinata (it is a miracle nobody went home with a black eye) and then we did presents and lunch.

On Beck's actual birthday Dane had the day off so we got to party all day long.
We did presents, lunch at McDonalds, went to the park with all his friends, saw Wreck it Ralph, and then came home and ended the day with cake and icecream.

Beck is the best little buddy in the world I hate to brag but I seriously think he is the most perfect boy ever.   He's so fun and such a goof I love that he loves to laugh and have a good time but he's also just the sweetest little thing.  I could write a novel on all the things I love about him but I'm going to keep it simple for now and just say WE LOVE YOU LIKE CRAZY BECK!!

Buried Treasure

Beck has been really into pirates lately, he has a little treasure box that he carries around everywhere he goes and he's stuffed it full with fake coins and almost every piece of jewelry I own.  The other day my mom sent us a package full of candy and stuff for my kids and she put in a little necklace for me and as soon as Beck saw it he yelled "AMMY SENT ME TREASURE!!"
He had been asking me for days to go outside with him to dig for buried treasure but it snowed the first of the week so we waited until the snow melted and went outside to dig for treasure.
I thought about going out ahead of time without him knowing and burying something for him to dig up but I'm afraid that in the long run it would lead to disappointment because then he would want to dig for treasure every day expecting to find something and I'm not about to go outside to dig a hole and fill it with treasure on a daily basis!

These are what we call the Church eyes...this expression definitely comes from Dane's side haha

The reason he was so excited is because when he was digging for treasure he found a jewel (aka - a piece of glass)...once again, glad I didn't take the time to bury treasure for him if a piece of glass was all it took to get him so excited

And this little girl was more than happy to hang out in her little car while we waited for Beck to strike it rich.
