Our baby is one!

Our baby boy turned one this weekend. Words can't explain how much happiness Beck has brought us. I'm sorry but I seriously do feel like I got the greatest child that has ever been created. I love everything about him. He is without a doubt the cutest little guy I have ever laid eyes on and I really don't think that I think that just because I'm his mom. I love his curiosity and his energy, I love that he his the biggest show-off on the planet and will do anything to make sure he is the center of attention at all times, I love that he is ticklish, I love when he snuggles his face into his blanky, I love when he does his fake little laugh whenever me and Dane both laugh, oh gosh the list could go on and on there is too much to love.

We gave him the present from my mom and dad the morning of his birthday, he had seen it a couple times in the closet and was ticked when I shut the door so we knew he would love it, and he has loved it except for he wants to tear off all the parts that are attached to the top of it so that he can eat them.

How cute does he look in this studly little outfit that he got from our friends Rich and Brityn!? Our friends were really generous and got him some sweet toys that me and him have both loved because now that there are more things to entertain him he has spent less time emptying out every drawer in our house and throwing the contents all over the ground after sucking on them. Beck had himself 2 birthday parties going at the same time. While we were doing our little party my mom and dad threw a party of their own for him back in Utah, he just didn't get to go to that one. My mom, dad, little brother, grandma and grandpa all got together and went out to eat and then went back to my parents for cake and icecream and my mom bought herself a highchair for when grandkids visit that she wrapped up and gave to herself hahaha! I called them on speaker so they could sing happy birthday along with us.

He LOVED when we were singing happy birthday to him, his expression was a mixture of complete shock and pure happiness that everyone in the room was not only staring at him but also singing to him. I had been looking forward to the cake moment from the day he was born, he wasn't shy digging in, the entire time over and over he would take a bite and then look up to see if everyone was still watching him and then he would giggle and take another bite. He didn't make it very far he was done as soon as he finished the frosting. For his cake I just made him a giant chocolate cupcake and I made us an eggnog/caramel cake which I thought was pretty good, he wanted some of mine as soon as he was done with his.

I am so grateful to have been blessed with Beck being our little boy, nothing makes me happier than spending every day with him, and I'm so glad that we get him for all eternity. WE LOVE YOU BECK!!!!

Disneyworld!

Thanksgiving was a little bit different this year, instead of spending the day with all of our family and having a big dinner with turkey and sweet potatoes we spent the day with Mickey Mouse and had a big dinner of french toast and eggs. I missed seeing all of the family but I'm definitely not complaining we got to meet up with Myrna and Doug and spend 5 WONDERFUL days together at Disneyworld.

We spent practically every waking moment at Disneyworld, we flew into Orlando thursday morning and drove straight to epcot and we left from the Magic Kingdom Monday night and drove straight to the airport. Dane was a little frustrated one of the days because we didn't leave the hotel until 10 am which meant we had already lost one full hour that could have been spent riding rides.
Here's a picture of Dane and Myrna - Dane is such a momma's boy it's so cute to see how much he loves her (lets get real though it's not like it's hard to love Myrna!) As hard as this might be to believe Dane was even more excited to see his mom than to go to Disneyland.

Me and Doug had a tough time keeping up with Dane and Myrna the whole time, I don't think either one of us realized when we married into the family that it requires AT LEAST 2 trips to Disneyland/world a year if you really want to be a member of the family.

We went to Epcot the first day, Animal Kingdom the second day, Hollywood Studios the third, and the Magic Kingdom the last two days because it's the best. And Myrna booked an incredible hotel/condo for us to stay in, it overlooked a lake with fountains in it and you could watch the fireworks from the balcony, it was fun just to hang out in the hotel and have dinner together and go to the hot tub.

I think the highlight for Beck was the constant flow of icecream, churros, and sprite given to him by his grandparents. I don't think he minded the constant attention from 4 adults either, he put on quite a show to entertain all of us the whole trip. We bought him some Mickey Ears with his name on the back and everything but it took all 4 of us just to get them on his head so we could take one picture of it. And I don't even want to talk about the fact that we took the stroller with us everyday and used it for maybe an hour each day just while he napped in it. He wanted to be carried and so of course we carried him all day everyday!

Hollywood studios has the most AMAZING Christmas light display I have ever seen. They have almost every inch of every building on one street covered in lights and the lights "dance" with the Christmas music that they play while they blow fake snow from the top of all the buildings.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Our house is feeling like Christmas - yay !!! I'm usually good about waiting until the day after Thanksgiving to get out all the Christmas stuff but I couldn't resist! 30 days is not enough time to celebrate the holiday that we spend all year looking forward to, so Saturday we got out the tree and all our decorations and Sunday night we decorated the tree while we listened to Celine Dion Christmas and had some apple cider. I've been playing non stop Christmas music from my favorite cd's - Celine Dion, Amy Grant, Mariah Carey, and the new David Archuleta (so good). And, I got my pine flavored candle burning non stop along with my pine flavored wallflower. And ammy and papa (my mom likes being a granny, but not being called one) sent Beck some Christmas books and darling PJ's - love them thank you! So I think we are set to go!! Maybe I should take bets on how long it takes for Beck to knock down the Christmas tree - I'll give a prize to whoever guesses closest

Beck's first haircut

Beck got his first haircut Friday night, he was starting to get bed-head and looked like a crazy scientist everytime he woke up so we knew it was time. He was darling while Dane was cutting his hair, when he wasn't trying to grab the clippers he would hunch over, close his eyes, and flinch everytime he would feel the clippers on his head. I thought that if I fed him while Dane cut it would distract him, but that didn't do anything except make a bigger mess for me to clean up.

Brandon's visit

My big brother came out to visit this week. He was only here for 2 days so we did Monticello, Williamsburg, and Yorktown. We hadn't been to Yorktown before and I loved it, it's a super cute little town right on the water. It was fun to catch up with Brandon he always entertains me by telling be about all the drama in his life, unfortunately for me he didn't have any big drama going on right now to tell me about but he did have some good stories still.

Halloween - Roar!!

We LOVE Halloween and it's so much more fun now that I have a little guy to dress up and who earns me a bunch of candy from trick-or-treating. We carved our pumpkins the night before which is one of Dane's all time favorite things in this world. He does all the pumpkin gutting because even though I LOVE pumpkin scented anything I think the real smell of pumkin is the sickest thing in the world. Beck of course enjoyed eating the pumpkin while Dane got them ready to carve. And I accomplished something I didn't think was possible...for the first time(and probably the last) Dane complimented my pumpkin carving skills...he is usually disgusted with me because I don't put nearly as much effort into it as he thinks I should.

Is this the cutest lion you have ever seen?? I couldn't stop taking pictures!! He actually did a pretty good job at wearing his costume for most of the night, and it was his favorite stuffed animal to play with when he wasn't wearing it.

Here's some of the trick-or-treating gang we went with. Rachel with her cute girls Lydia and Eliza and Lissa with her darling little ballerina Kylea.

Our friends shared their wagon with Beck while we trick-or-treated and this was his expression the entire time, he looked completely shocked and was holding on to the sides for dear life.

While we were trick-0r-treating he hacked into one of the twix bars and got it all over and was ticked when we took it away, but we made it up to him and gave him some chocolate when we got home and he was out of his costume and he devoured it in no time (he takes after his mom!). After we put Beck to bed I enjoyed almost all the rest of his candy while me and Dane watched my favorite Halloween movie Practical Magic, it's tradition for me and my mother-in-law Myrna to watch it together every year so it was sad to watch it without her but Dane's a good sport at watching my girly movies with me.

Apple Picking

Monday me and Beck drove down to an apple orchard with my friend Sarah and her little gal Ava. The orchard was fun they let you take a bag and a map to go pick yourself some apples, but we were too lazy to treck through the orchards with our strollers so we just bought some apples at the front which I'm pretty sure defeated the purpose of going but we did go on a fun hay ride and actually the real reason we wanted to go was because it's a perfect place to drive to see all the leaves because they are BEAUTIFUL right now! I've seen a ton of people blogging about how much they love the fall and I'm going to agree with all of them, I love EVERYTHING about this time of year.
