Family

Family reunion!! Yay!! My mom, dad and Dayne came out to visit this last week and of course we had a BLAST!

Saturday morning we all went to our big ward egg hunt in the field by our house. Unfortunately Beck still doesn't get the concept of an egg hunt, I was a little disappointed in the amount of candy he brought home. I tried to help him as much as I could without looking like a total idiot pushing all the kids away so he could get to the eggs.
We went to Maymont park to see all of the gardens and took a tour through the old mansion they have there.

Poor Beck was a little under the weather all week, but he still managed to enjoy and take full advantage of all the attention he got while they were here...the best part was probably when he danced to "she'll be comin round the mountain" about 800 times

We all decided that instead of jam packing a bunch of activities to do while they were here we just wanted to relax and hang out most of the time like we would if we lived close to eachother like the good old days. But we still did a lot of fun things, we went to botanical gardens, drove through the country side of Virginia to Appomattox courthouse (very fun and cute little drive), ate out (had some "homeade" biscuits), did some shopping, played a lot of Ticket to Ride, watched movies, and lots more.

Thursday we went to Virginia Beach for the day and while we were there we rented one of these fun bike things...LOVED it!! We almost took out a few pedestrians and just claimed we didn't know how to stop but really we had a time limit and just didn't want to be slowed down.
The best part was when a man in a wheelchair offered to take our picture and somehow while giving the camera back coaxed Dayne to stand on the back of his wheelchair so he could give him a ride down the boardwalk, and they totally disappeared into the sunset together. I'm pretty sure you had to be there to understand how hilarious it was to see my little brother being kidnapped by some old random stranger in a wheelchair. Luckily after a few minutes he did bring Dayne back though.
Papa and Beck are so cute together.
Is it appropriate to post pictures of my shirtless husband all over my blog??

Friday we went up to Washington DC and did a temple session (beautiful temple!) and then stayed the night because we got to go on a white house tour early Saturday morning, too bad we weren't allowed to take pictures, because it was awesome. Then we went to some Smithsonian museums and caught some of DC's Cherry Blossom parade which Dayne obviously enjoyed.
It was such a fun week and it's so so sad to have to say goodbye, nothing makes me happier than spending time with them. I'm still trying to get them to move to Virginia but even after all of the fun things we did they still aren't convinced!

Glad you had a great Easter and week with your family. It's always hard to see them go, knowing they live so far away. Looks like you kept busy, hope you had fun in Washington DC too :)

Those dresses from the parade are awesome. It looks like you had a lot of fun, I want to try the courthouse now. Renting one of those bikes is a dream of mine.
